


1. You can contribute funds to Jeff’s legal fund or Education and Release fund or to his prison commissary account a few different ways:
• Online: donations can be made online on a secure server through Paypal. To make a donation, click here:
All names/addresses are kept confidential. These donations go to fund Jeff’s legal costs and any remaining funds will be used towards his release fund to help him to adjust to life on the outside upon his release in December 2009.
• Snail Mail: You can send checks/money orders made out to "Free’s Defense Fund" to POB 3, Eugene, OR 97440. Specify legal fund, education and release fund, or commissary.
• Directly to Jeff’s commissary account: These funds are used by Jeff to buy necessities like pens, stamps, envelopes etc. Money orders or cashier's check only [absolutely no checks or cash] can be made out to: DOC Central Trust for (For Jeffrey Luers, #13797671) and sent to Central Trust, PO Box 14400, Salem OR 97309-5077. On the money order/cashier´s check, write the name and mailing address of purchaser, including city, state, and zip code.The money will be put in Free's account upon receipt through the mail. Please do not include any letters or other personal items in the envelope that you use to mail the money order/cashier´s check. Any letters, cards, etc. cannot be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
2. Jeff’s case desperately needs to stay in the news and in the public’s mind. Letters to Oregon based media are very useful. Here are a few media outlets you can write to. For examples of letters sent on Free’s behalf, see here. Make sure to sign up to Free's listserve to hear when letters to the editor are needed, etc.

3. Host a screening of 22/8: The Jeffrey Luers Story in your community
This film about Free is available from us for $14 with proceeds going to Jeff's legal fund and education/release fund. Check out details of the film here and make sure to order it soon. Host a screening in your community and then you can split proceeds between your local efforts and Jeff's legal defense fund.
4. Organize an event to draw attention to Jeff’s case.
Show your solidarity with Jeff and all those who have struggled, past and present, to make this world a better place. Hold demonstrations or gatherings at federal buildings or US embassies and demand change. Plan an action that makes sense for your area: a demonstration, treesit, music festival, teach-in, stenciling campaign, rally, protests at an American consulate/embassy overseas or public forum. Circulate petitions. Contribute to the legal defense for the defendants. Do what you think is appropriate. But please remember when planning an action or event think about how it could affect future court hearings.

5. Form a support group/work directly with Jeff
Local support groups can do everything from hosting benefits to web based activism to staging protests. You can write Jeff at Jeffrey Luers, #13797671, CRCI, 9111 NE Sunderland Ave, Portland, OR 97211. Check out the page of Oregon State Mail Regulations here.
Also, feel free to get involved with a pre-existing group like Break the Chains, the Anarchist Black Cross or the Jericho Movement
6.Distribute Jeff's zine, Heartcheck
Jeff's zine, Heartcheck, co-authored with fellow political prisoner Rob 'los ricos' Thaxton, was released in late April 2005. We have sold out of the orignial full-color printing, but photocopies are still available. If you work at a bookstore, run a distro or volunteer at an infoshop, please email us at info@freejeffluers.org to set something up. 7.Sign Jeff's solidarity statement and get other people to sign it
Jeff's solidarity statement, located here, was designed to increase support for Jeff as well as to be used in campaigns to get human rights groups to support Jeff. You can download a copy, get friends and family to sign it and either email us or send in the signatures.
8.Sign up to Jeff’s list serve/emergency response network
We operate a list serve that is announcement only and sends out updates to the site as well as Jeff’s prison dispatches and responds to emergencies [such as Jeff getting sent to the hole, letters needed to the media etc].
